Trades.Studio designs the parts of a trades business that customers see: the logo, the trucks, the crew's clothing, the printed pieces and the video. It exists because most trades companies do excellent work and present it badly, and because a design studio that understands how trades actually win jobs is hard to find. We are a marketing and consulting service, not a contractor; we never install, repair or service anything.
The company
Trades.Studio is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, a Canadian group headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, that serves clients across Canada.
- Sedighi.ca is Ali Sedighi's growth, marketing and technology consulting company. Trades.Agency, the parent of this studio, is one of its brands, next to HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca.
- Trades.Agency is the group's marketing agency for trades and home-service businesses. Trades.Studio is its creative side, and our plans follow Trades.Agency's published pricing.
- SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone) is where the group handles strategy, AI and revenue-acceleration consulting for Canadian companies. Ali started it, holds the title of Founder & Managing Partner, and its strategic direction comes from Sedighi.ca.
Being part of a larger group means the design work connects to the rest of your marketing. A new logo isn't much use if the website, Google profile and ads still show the old one, so we plan creative work alongside the services that put it in front of people.
Ali Sedighi, MBA
Ali Sedighi leads Trades.Studio. His training is an MBA in Technology Management, and his career in digital marketing runs 17+ years, back to 2007 and ONE.ir, the full-service agency he started that year. He now lives and works in Vancouver.
Since then he has started Conv.ca, which specialises in conversion-rate optimisation, and MyAutomation.ca, alongside his role leading SAZ.ca. His clients have included businesses in Canada, the USA and Dubai.
In the trades, his deepest work is in heating and cooling: he has built 150+ live HVAC websites, including brands such as CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca and Roma Heating & Cooling. That work taught a lesson that applies to every trade: the companies that grow are the ones customers can recognise, remember and find again. Read the results from our HVAC work for the details.
How we work
Our process is deliberately plain.
- We look before we design. Photos of your vehicles, shirts, signs, quotes and online profiles tell us more than a questionnaire.
- We prioritise by exposure. The touchpoint customers see most, and that currently looks weakest, gets fixed first.
- We design for real conditions. Snow on a tailgate, a logo stitched at 7 cm, a yard sign read from across the road, a profile photo shrunk to a dot.
- We hand everything over. Master files, colour values, font licensing notes and a rulebook. You own them.
- We tell you what not to buy. If an item won't earn its cost, we say so.
We work across Canada, and design travels well: and we brief local wrap installers, printers and apparel decorators wherever you are. The areas we serve section covers what changes from province to province, such as French-language rules in Quebec.
What we won't do
Some limits are part of doing this honestly:
- No legal advice. Business names and trademarks are legal questions. Talk to the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, a lawyer or a registered trademark agent; our naming guide lists the questions to ask.
- No compliance advice. We can point you to your provincial regulator, but whether your vehicle must show a licence number, or what your safety apparel must be, is for the regulator and your advisers to confirm.
- No invented proof. We don't publish made-up client quotes, ratings we can't support, or stock photos passed off as your crew.
- No production markups hidden in design fees. We don't sell vinyl, garments or print, so our advice isn't steered by what we stock.
Positioning, in one line
Trades.Studio designs and markets for Canadian trades and home-service companies, and advises their owners. It is a studio and a consultancy, never a contractor: no wrench, ladder or vinyl squeegee in our hands.
If you'd like to talk about your brand, call, text or email. The first consultation is free, plans are month to month, and you can see them on the pricing page. You can also read the frequently asked questions first.
Frequently asked questions
Who owns Trades.Studio?
Trades.Studio is a brand within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. Sedighi.ca is Ali Sedighi's growth, marketing and technology consulting company, and Trades.Agency is its trades marketing brand.
Are you a contractor or a sign shop?
Neither. We are a design and marketing service. No trade work happens on our side: no installs, no repairs, no service calls, and no printing, wrapping or embroidery either. We design, specify and check the work that local suppliers produce.
Who will I actually deal with?
You start with a senior strategist on the phone, and Ali Sedighi directs the creative work from there. We don't list a team of named designers here because we only publish what we can stand behind.
Where are you based?
Vancouver, British Columbia. We work with trades across Canada, meeting by video call or in person, and by phone, text, email and shared files.
